Update on Capital Projects for the Village of Attica.

The new West Main Street Elevated Storage tank should be on line shortly.  Once online the old tank and pump station will be demolished.

The water line project is progressing.   They are currently hooking up services on Main Street before installing new pipe.  Everyone has been very understanding during this dificult time.

Attica Roadwork Report

From the NYS Department of Transportation

(Latest update as of 8/1/10)
We have a solid commitment from our contractor that there will be equipment rolling on Buffalo Road next week. There will be alternating one-way traffic throughout the week. The residents along the South side of the street will be the first to be impacted as their driveways will be inaccessible for brief periods while they are cut back to the work limits and graded to match the new roadway profile.

National Grid will continue with their overhead utility relocations along Main Street which will require occasional flagging of traffic.

The Village's waterline work should be concentrated at the side street intersections with Main Street as they drop back to install branch lines. Residential service connections are expected to take place from the School-West once the branch lines are in.

We will be posting a weekly work schedule in the Attica Penny Saver

(Latest update as of 7/16/10)
DiPizio Construction will be bringing in their equipment next week
Monday. Work is anticipated to begin on Buffalo Road (Rt. 238) as early
as Wednesday 14th. Drivers can expect one-way alternating traffic
between Market St. and the County Line (North Village Limit).
There will be a public meeting held at the High School from 6:00 - 8:00
PM Tuesday July 20th. From 6:00 - 7:00 will be an open house forum
leading up to a brief presentation at 7:00 PM. The project schedule and
plans will be available for viewing. DOT Officials will be present
throughout this time to field questions.

The Village's utility contractor will continue with the water main work
between Georges Dr. and the High School. Drivers can expect one-way
alternating traffic along Main St. in this area for the next two weeks.
The three side streets to the South will remain accessible throughout
this phase of the work. There will be brief periods of shut downs to the
water supply while the system is transferred over from the old main to
the new one. In most cases residents will received advanced notice of
these interruptions, with the exception being unanticipated damage to
the existing lines.

National Grid will be working in various locations around the Village
relocating utility poles and eventually removing the existing street
lighting system along Market Street in preparation for the installation
of the new decorative street lamps. There will be temporary light plants
in place during the transition period.

on the STATE DOT ROAD project yet.  It looks like no State Budget, no work.
